If you are going to present your product or service, this 6-step checklist may help you design a clear and captivating demo, and eventually achieve your business goals.

1. Know your audience. Before you even start thinking about a presentation, you need to study your audience. Who are they? And what do they need? Answer these questions and you’ll already be halfway there.

2. Define a goal. You need to have an objective and a way to measure it. Do you want to educate the audience about your product? Or do you want to sell it? By defining a measurable goal, you define the success of the demo.

3. Choose the platform. In-person presentations, live webinars, recorded video tutorials, there are so many possibilities and platforms. Choose the format and the tool that works best for both your audience and your goal.

4. Set the core message. How does your product or service solve your audience’s problems? What are the highlights? Answer these questions in the simplest and clearest way, but most importantly, be memorable.

5. Engage your audience. During the demo, it is important to leave room for discussion. Ask for feedback, listen to questions, and respond to any concerns. This will increase confidence in your product.

6. Follow up. After the demo, follow up with the audience. Send a thank-you email and provide additional information about the product or service. This will help maintain the audience’s interest and convert prospects into customers.

Presenting a product or service is a challenging task, but following these steps could make the process much smoother and increase your chances of achieving your business goals and driving growth for your company.
